Technology moves on, and so does motorcycle styling. The Dart Manta is a sharp, sleek screen which complements the more aggressive styling of modern naked bikes. Like the Flyscreen, it’s designed to improve comfort at motorway speeds without being obtrusive and changing the nature of the bike.
Style-wise, the Manta is distinctive and modern without drawing too much attention to itself – it is an accessory, after all, and shouldn’t compete with the bike itself. The overall form has direction and purpose with its sharp centre line, and visual separation of the side fins, where the fittings are located.
Like the Flyscreen, the Manta screen is injection-moulded in 4mm thick Makrolon high impact polycarbonate. Quality is as high as any original equipment screen available, and way ahead of ordinary aftermarket products. Look at the detailing: the rounded, polished perimeter bead, the recessed areas for the fittings, the textured finish to the side fins. All this reflects the attention that has gone into the product.
Mounting hardware is laser-cut from aluminium alloy or steel, then CNC folded and finished to suit the model of bike. Fasteners are stainless steel and, like all Dart products, the Manta is designed and manufactured in England. Photos show the screen with fittings for the Triumph Street Triple 675.
